There’s a certain power in the night that we thrive on here at MCR.

Nocturnal captures both the complexity and the light-heartedness of the night. It starts off with a sweet taste, moves onto a powerful sensation of a bright tropical fruit, and finishes easy with some kinder caramel and almond tones.

We wanted Nocturnal to represent the ability of coffee to do something that no other beverage can do, and that’s keep you awake and alive all night. We try to find coffee from areas traditionally known to contain higher caffeine contents. This coffee is for the night owls, the students, the professionals, or anyone who needs that extra boost in their coffee.

Currently, we’re using coffees from the Huehuetenango region of Guatemala. Guatemala has a history of rich, lush ecology with lots of water to fully wash their coffees. The result is an intensely clean cup with strong clarity of flavor and sparkling acidity. Our partners at Genuine Origin have spent several decades maintaining a close relationship with the farmers in the area, resulting in a better situation for the region and a high quality final product.

Respect is one of our core values, and in order to maintain that value we’ve chosen to partner with the Genuine Origin Coffee Project to source our coffee. Genuine Origin integrates into communities in coffee producing countries, and creates projects and partnerships that are uniquely beneficial to each community. It’s a truly holistic, long term approach in protecting and sustaining the livelihood of the farmers at origin. And that’s real respect.
