Muddy Waters

Ethiopia is generally understood as the birthplace of coffee, and the only region where coffee grows wild and naturally. Although we love our dry processed coffees, washed Ethiopian offerings are unique in their floral and winey attributes, and that’s what we look for when selecting a coffee for Muddy Waters.

This specific coffee comes from a renowned coffee producing zone, Guji, famous for rich loamy soil and high altitude. The coffee is washed via mechanical mucilage removal at the Guji-Uraga Washing Station, which is fed by 450 small-scale farmers across just 500 hectares of land.

This is a great coffee for folks looking for a bright, tropical, floral option. It makes a delightful pour over, drip coffee, or espresso shot if you don’t mind a little less body. When drinking this coffee expect some tea-like characteristics, fruits like apricot or sweeter pineapple, and most of all a very winey overtone.
