Twilight Time Decaf

Twilight Time Decaf – Medium/Dark Roast – Chocolatey Notes with a Smooth Body
“Death before Decaf” is one of the worst phrases to come out of the coffee community. To be so naïve as to disregard what can be a delicious coffee just without the caffeine as by default unfavorable is maddening and goes against everything we stand for at Midnight. We aim to roast approachable coffees that everyone can enjoy, even if you can’t or don’t drink caffeine. And this decaf is both approachable and delicious.
Enjoy the deep and dark chocolate flavor notes in this coffee with exceptionally low acidity and a smooth body that feels velvety as you drink. This coffee tastes great any way you brew it, but it does especially well in a French Press, extracting some of those hidden oils in the coffee.

Twilight Time undergoes a process we call Sugar Cane Decaffeination before it arrives at our roastery doors. In Colombia where this coffee comes from, sugar cane is readily available. Fermenting molasses created from the sugar cane produces effectively alcohol. Mixed with a few other compounds, you have a solution that you can wash the green coffee beans with to extract caffeine. A few rounds of steam later, and you have a beautifully sweet decaf that is as good or better as any other coffee we carry.
